About this extension

Export Posts for Facebook is a Chrome extension that downloads full Facebook posts — text, comments, attachments, and media — for offline viewing or archival.

It generates HTML files you can browse offline, exports comments as JSON or CSV, pulls down all attached images and videos in HD, and takes full-page screenshots. You can also filter posts by date or keyword, translate content, export nested reply threads, and resume interrupted downloads.

Journalists, business owners, and researchers all have reasons to keep Facebook content outside the platform. This extension handles the export so you don't have to copy-paste or wrestle with scraping scripts.

Post Filter narrows your export by date range or keyword, so you grab only what you need instead of an entire timeline. The screenshot option creates a visual record of each post exactly as it appeared — useful for legal evidence or compliance files. Comments can include nested replies and HD attachments from individual comments. On pages with hundreds of posts, Resume Downloading tracks where you stopped so nothing gets skipped between sessions.

Basic page-saving tools strip out comment threads and lose media. This extension keeps the full post structure — comment hierarchy, attached files, original formatting — in a clean offline HTML file. Nonprofits archive fundraising campaigns, legal teams capture evidence from public pages, and none of it requires API keys or coding. Runs in your browser, works out of the box.

We use this to back up all of our company page posts with comments and attachments. The offline HTML viewer is brilliant — you can browse everything just like on Facebook.

Great tool overall. The post filtering feature is super useful when you only need posts from a certain time period. Would love to see a batch scheduler in the future.

— James T.

Exported hundreds of posts from a research group for my thesis. The CSV format with comments made my analysis so much easier compared to manually copying everything.
